About Us

Pike Builders, Inc. is owned and operated by Paul and Steve Pike, otherwise known as the Pike Brothers. Steve went on to study business and finance at the University of Northern Colorado while Paul continued to fine-tune his knowledge and skill as a specialist in quality control and overall craftsmanship. Together, Steve and Paul bring decades of experience to the industry, making Pike Builders visionary in the old-world style custom marketplace.

We approach each project with a fresh vision and we are fully engaged to meet our client’s goals.

Visitors describe Crested Butte, unspoiled, unpretentious; terms not typically associated with today’s more recognized mountain destinations. But Gunnison-Crested Butte is a place where those terms still apply. Western heritage; dramatic, unspoiled natural beauty; genuinely friendly, unpretentious people and “Colorado’s Last Great Ski Town” await.

The gateway to this special place is the City of Gunnison. Retaining much of its historic Western ranching heritage, Gunnison is home to “Cattlemen’s Days,” the oldest rodeo celebration in Colorado.

The 30-mile drive from the high desert plateaus and mesas of Gunnison to the alpine world of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte is a trip that transcends both geological and chronological time. Recognized as the “Official Wildflower Capital of Colorado” by the Colorado Legislature, the Town of Crested Butte thrived as an Old West supply town to surrounding gold, silver and coal mines long before it became a famous ski town. Its homey and colorful Victorian buildings and warm, welcoming residents still give testimony to that heritage. Just three miles north (and a 10-minute FREE ride via the Mountain Express bus) lies the resort village of Mt. Crested Butte, home to the world-renowned Crested Butte Mountain Resort where you can “inspire your passion” for world-class skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and so much more.

Crested Butte is located in Gunnison County, Colorado. Once a former coal-mining town now called “the last great Colorado ski town”. Crested Butte is a destination for skiing, mountain biking, and a variety of other outdoor activities at nearby Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mount Crested Butte, which rises to rises to 12,162 feet above sea level. Backcountry skiing in the surrounding mountains of Crested Butte is considered to be some of the best in Colorado. The large amount of extreme skiing terrain at Crested Butte has attracted the US Extreme Skiing Championships and the X Games.

Year-round residents enjoy distinctive restaurants, unique shops, stimulating cultural opportunities, and health and well-being retreats, classes, spas and more. Gunnison and Crested Butte events and festivals ensure there is always something happening that you won’t want to miss, including the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival in honor of the wildflower capital of Colorado and Gunnison’s Cattlemen’s Days, Colorado’s oldest rodeo.

Crested Butte is one of the locations that claim to have created the sport of mountain biking. The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame is located in Crested Butte. Other popular summer activities in Crested Butte include hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting and kayaking, four wheeling, disc golf, and fishing. There is definitely no shortage of activities in Crested Butte as the town hosts a number of unique festivals and parades throughout the year.

Come enjoy our beautiful scenery and way of life as you live in your custom home from Pike Builders. We are excited to hear from you and look forward to making your dreams a reality in the beautiful countryside of Colorado.
